When you sign in with Discord, we receive your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and a list of servers you belong to. We use this solely to authenticate you and provide our services.

We also collect:

  • Bot listings — information you submit about your Discord bots (name, description, invite URL, etc.)
  • Reviews & votes — content you post on bot listings
  • Usage data — page views, search queries, and invite clicks (aggregated, not personally identifiable)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate your identity via Discord OAuth
  • To display your username and avatar on reviews and bot listings you own
  • To send you notifications about your bot listings (e.g., new reviews)
  • To calculate aggregate analytics for bot developers (page views, invite clicks)
  • To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with encryption at rest. Sessions are managed via secure, HTTP-only cookies. We do not store your Discord password — authentication is handled entirely through Discord's OAuth2 flow.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data may be disclosed only if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session token). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your reviews will be anonymized and your bot listings will be unclaimed.

7. Children's Privacy

BotBoard is not intended for users under 13 years of age, consistent with Discord's own Terms of Service.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
