tokebot

Summary

A chatbot that facilitates the group activity of toking for Discord communities. View stats about users and tokes, notify users about tokes, and control where and how often tokes start.

Use Case

Bots with this functionality and purpose first came about on sites where groups of tokers watched shows and movies together. On Discord, that translates to streaming in a voice chat while tokebot facilitates tokes in the attached text chat.

Compatibility

Compatible with Discord chat integrations such as those facilitated by WidgetBot and other apps.

Mechanics

By default, no role is pinged for tokes, tokes are allowed in channels tokebot can access, and the toke cooldown is set to 3 seconds. This bot recognizes commands by reading chat messages regardless of whether a user or bot sent them. User and toke statistics are local to each server. A user may join tokes in different channels simultaneously. No user may join a toke in the same channel more than once.

• Starts or joins a toke.

• Joins the last toke late.

!tokerboard / !tokeboard

ex. !tokerboard or !tokeboard

• Provides a list of either tokers or tokes with their stats and options to change lists and pages. Does not accept input.

!toker <(@)user>

ex. !toker <@1234567891011121314> or !toker user or !toker

• Provides information about a user. With no input, this command defaults to the user who sent the message.

!tokeinfo <(!)toke>

ex. !tokeinfo toke or !tokeinfo !toke

• Provides information about a toke command. Requires input.

!tokerole <@role>

ex. !tokerole <@&1234567891011121314>

Admin only.* Designates a role to be pinged whenever a toke is started. With no input, this command removes the designated role if one is present.

!tokecooldown <seconds>

ex. !tokecooldown 15

Admin only.* Sets the toke cooldown time which determines how long users must wait before starting a new toke. With no input, this command resets the toke cooldown time to its minimum of 3 seconds.

!tokechannels <#channel(s)>

ex. !tokechannels <#1234567891011121314><#4131211101987654321>

Admin only.* Designates one or more channels in which tokes are allowed. With no input, this command removes all designated channels if they are present.

!toggletokes

ex. !toggletokes

Owner only.* Enables or disables community created content. In using this command, the owner acknowledges and accepts any risk associated with community created content, such as language or images they may dislike.
