Ticketeer

Use /setup to get started.

On Discord, users who modify their clients are able to view certain information about all channels in a server, which can cause friction in the moderation process when a member of your server wants to contact you privately.

Private Threads, however, do not reveal their existence to anyone except those who are either invited into the thread, or have moderation permissions over threads in that channel.

Ticketeer utilizes this difference between private threads and private channels to enable you to create a significantly more private conversation with your server members.

Ticketeer does not even need to view the contents of the messages within the thread itself. When you enable the setting to require a user to specify a reason for the ticket, Ticketeer can briefly see the contents of that reason itself. We do not, however, store that reason outside Discord beyond the duration of the process of creating that ticket.

These are the minimum permissions in the ticket channel required for Ticketeer to function:

• View Channel
• Create Private Threads
• Send Messages in Threads
• Send Messages - When using the /setup command, Ticketeer will send a message in the channel with a button for users to create a ticket. This permission can be safely removed after the /setup command has finished running.

The following permissions can be added to Ticketeer to add additional functionality:

• Mention Everyone This permission is needed if the support role is not configured to be pingable by @everyone. If Ticketeer lacks necessary permissions needed to ping the support role, then users will be unable to create tickets.

• Pin Messages By enabling this permission, Ticketeer will automatically pin the starter message for the ticket.

Pro tip: If you want to blacklist someone from creating tickets, simply deny them the Send Messages in Threads permission for the ticket channel. Ticketeer will refuse to create tickets for a user that lacks this permission.
