StageHand

StageHand is a Discord bot for roleplay communities and the staff who run them. It turns long-running server chores into slash commands, buttons, and light automations so your cast can stay in character and your team can stay organized.

What you can do with it

• Scenes — Open and close “scenes,” track in-world time or beats, and keep the room feeling like a stage, not a spreadsheet.
• Dice — Presets, buttons, challenges, and formats that work for theater-style play and tabletop-style rolls.
• Lore carousels — Curate lore pages players can flip through without leaving Discord.
• IC mail & indexes — Mailboxes and indexes that fit forums or text channels, so letters and lists stay readable.
• Automations — If-this-then-that style rules for roles, reminders, channel posts, and more (power user friendly).
• Tickets & forms — Structured intake and workflows when you need a queue, not a free-for-all.
• Hiatus & MIA tools — Staff-facing flows to handle breaks and attendance with less awkward chasing.
• Verification — Optional join checks so new members meet your bar before they see the full server.
• Reminders & utilities — Small quality-of-life pieces that add up when you run a server for months or years.

Some capabilities depend on how your host configured the bot for your server (for example submissions or search features). Ask your server’s owner or tech admin what’s enabled for you.

Who it’s for

Servers that treat Discord as a performance space: writers’ rooms, troupes, long-form RP, audition servers, and communities with clear staff roles and recurring rituals (scenes, rolls, lore drops, mail).

Privacy & expectations

StageHand may use privileged Discord features (such as reading message content or member info) when your bot operator turns them on and when your server grants access — usually so automations, scenes, dice, and indexing work. Only invite the bot to servers you trust, and use channel permissions so it only sees what it needs.
