Spam Trap

Automatically catch and remove spam bots and compromised accounts before they can spread by monitoring a dedicated spam trap channel.

Quick Setup

1. Invite Spam Trap to your server.
2. Run /spamtrap channel.
3. Spam Trap creates a dedicated trap channel with a multilingual warning message.
4. Optionally configure your moderation log channel using /spamtrap log.
5. Choose your preferred moderation action with /spamtrap action.
6. Your server is now protected.

By default, Spam Trap uses Softban, which bans then immediately unbans the user. This removes their recent messages while allowing legitimate users to rejoin after securing their Discord account. You can also choose permanent bans or disable automatic moderation entirely.

Why Use Spam Trap?

Spam bots and compromised Discord accounts often post in every visible channel as soon as they join a server or become hijacked.

Spam Trap uses an intelligent honeypot system to catch these accounts before they can flood your community. As soon as a suspicious account posts in the trap channel, Spam Trap automatically removes it, deletes its messages, notifies your moderation team, and sends helpful recovery instructions to the user.

This keeps your community safe while saving moderators countless hours of manual cleanup.

Tips

Place your spam trap channel near the top of your channel list to maximize detection against automated spam bots.

Ensure Spam Trap's role is positioned above your member roles so it has permission to remove malicious accounts.
