How It Works

Every message is run through multiple detection layers simultaneously:

• Link scanning — checks URLs against a constantly updated list of known phishing sites, IP grabbers, and malware hosts
• Pattern matching — hundreds of rules targeting scam phrasing, fake giveaway text, impersonation attempts, and more
• Image scanning — detects known scam images even if they've been cropped, re-saved, or re-encoded
• Text in images — reads text from image attachments using OCR, catching scams embedded in screenshots
• Invite scanning — fetches and analyses Discord invite metadata to catch servers used as scam hubs
• Coordinated threat detection — automatically identifies when multiple users post identical suspicious content, flagging organised campaigns before they spread

Smart, Escalating Responses

PhishFence doesn't just delete messages — it builds a suspicion profile for every flagged user and automatically escalates based on repeat behaviour. First offence? Message deleted and logged. Keep pushing? Mute, kick, or ban — your choice.

Every server can configure exactly how each type of scam is handled, right down to the scam category:
