"I can't wait to use Checkmate Royale, but I don't know where to start!"

No worries, I've got you covered with this handy quick guide:

• Draft a /challenge to opponent(s) (and an optional teammate) and send it.
• Made a mistake? /retract your pending outgoing challenge and try again.
• Received a challenge? /accept it to begin the match.
• Did the interface disappear? Open your /match to continue playing.
• Want to customize your chess experience? Update your /preferences.

"But I also want a more public experience with chat, game logs, match results, and more!"

Then you'll love the feature-packed threads interface:

• /assign a channel where you'd like Checkmate Royale to open a public thread for each match.
• /challenges drafted after this point create public threads inside the channel /assigned.
• The pinned interface at the top of the thread allows members to spectate the match and toggle turn notifications.
• /unassign to stop using this feature.

"I'd rather play against a bot instead of a human!"

• Added support for Fischer Random / Chess960, selectable via /challenge's board_type parameter
• Added support for Vertical Castling
• Implemented something akin to Orthodoxed Castling rules to make castling in random chess variants more intuitive. This includes more traditional vertical/queenside/kingside castling, plus a few special cases that appear in non-traditional chess variants:
