Barnacle Sticky is a sticky message bot. It keeps a message at the bottom of a channel and posts it again as the chat moves on, so the rules, a link or a notice is always the last thing members see.

Always the last message

When new messages push a sticky message up, Barnacle Sticky posts it again at the bottom and deletes the copy it replaces, so old copies never pile up. It waits for the chat to settle for a moment first. Editing the text changes the copy in place, with no repost.

Channels, threads and forum posts

Put one sticky message in each text or announcement channel, in the chat of a voice or stage channel, in a thread or in a forum post. An archived thread is left asleep until someone posts in it again.

Text, color and images

Write the text with Discord's formatting, give its frame a color, and add images by link. There is no "Stickied Message" header above it.

Gets along with other bots

When only bots and webhooks keep posting below it, Barnacle Sticky waits longer between reposts, so two sticky message bots don't push each other up forever. A message from a person brings the usual pace back.

Tells you what's wrong

/settings shows how each sticky message stands. When a permission is missing or AutoMod blocks the text, it says what to fix and where. Pause a sticky message, and its copy stays where it is until you turn reposting back on.

Getting started

Add Barnacle Sticky to your server and run /help. A member with Manage Server runs /settings and presses Add sticky message.

Permissions and privacy

• View Channels, Send Messages and Create Posts and Send Messages in Threads and Posts: to post sticky messages in channels, threads and forum posts
• Read Message History: after a restart, to find and delete a copy it posted but couldn't record

Barnacle Sticky doesn't use the Message Content intent. It reposts because a message arrived below, without reading it, and keeps nothing members write.

Pricing

There is a free plan and a paid plan. Every feature works on the free plan, with fewer sticky messages and slower reposts. The paid plan allows more sticky messages and reposts sooner, ahead of free servers when Barnacle Sticky is busy. A server's first subscription starts with a free trial.
